Family planning

Family planning is a type of sexual health focused on birth control. If you’re sexually active, but don’t want to have children, your Three Peaks Urgent Care provider can recommend a type of contraception that aligns with your needs. That might mean oral birth control, an intrauterine device (IUD), or an implantable form of birth control, like Nexplanon®.

Testing for sexually transmitted illnesses (STI’s)

STI testing analyzes your blood, urine, or and sometimes saliva for the presence of a viral or bacterial infection.  The most common STDs include, gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, herpes, and syphilis 

If your provider determines that you have an STD, we will make treatment recommendations.

Patient education

Sexual health is a crucial component of your general well-being. It’s good for you and builds intimacy, but it can also present risks. Your Three Peaks Urgent Care provider can provide tips and insights to reduce the chance of infection and other issues.

At Three Peaks Urgent Care, results typically take 1-3 days. First, your provider collects a sample of your blood, urine, or saliva, which is sent to the lab for analysis or done onsite.

After your provider reviews the results of your STD test, they make treatment recommendations

We offer same day testing and treatment for some STI’s.

There are several things you can do to reduce the risk of an STI. We recommend:
• Using condoms/Dental Dams
• Avoid sharing towels or clothing
• Undergo STI testing regularly
