A physical, also called ‘physical exam’, assesses your general health and well-being. You don’t need to be sick to request one. In fact, it’s important to schedule physicals, even if you feel healthy.

Many chronic conditions, like diabetes and high blood pressure, develop slowly without warning and physicals can alert you these to potential conditions before they progress.

We provide several types of physicals, including:

Sports and camp physicals

Many schools, and organized sports leagues  and youth summer camps require participants to undergo an exam before the start of a new season. 

During an exam, the provider assesses whether hour child is physically able to participate in strenuous activities, like running or jumping. Your child’s provider can even make recommendations to reduce the risk of injuries, ensuring they remain active and healthy.

Traditional physicals

A traditional physical presents a chance to check in on your general health. If you’re 18 or older, it’s crucial to schedule a traditional physical annually. 

During a physical, your provider assesses all aspects of your health and well-being, including your heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels.

Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

A DOT physical is an exam required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). If you drive a city bus or another commercial vehicle, you must undergo a DOT physical every two years. If you have a chronic medical issue, like obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) or heart disease, more frequent checkups might be necessary.

Three Peaks Urgent Care charges $100 for DOT physicals.

• Skin exam for moles, tags, or unusual growths
• Examining your eyes, ears, nose, and throat
• Onsite lab tests, like blood work and urinalysis
• Immunizations
